Help Macey and Janet fight Leukemia

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and caring individuals,

On May 28, 2023, Janet Reid was dealt a devastating blow. Her daughter Macey was diagnosed with Leukemia.

It initially started after months of back and forth in the ER  and several weeks in the hospital  due to Macey not feeling well. Medical professionals diagnosed her with kidney failure.

Janet spent day and night by her side while she was under doctors care for her kidneys. After several weeks being hospitalized , Macey was released.  A month passed and Macey was still not feeling well. One evening , while at home , Macey passed out and an ambulance was called and she transported to WVU Children’s hospital.  It was there they diagnosed her with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic LUEKEMIA  .

Within  24 hours Macey received her 1st round of chemotherapy.   Janet is recuperating herself after having had foot surgery and not being able to walk or work for 3 months.

She found herself yet again taking off from work to be by Maceys side for the next  4 weeks while she endured multiple rounds of chemo.  Macey has a challenging voyage ahead.

This fundraising campaign has been created to rally support and raise funds to ensure that Macey receives the life-saving treatment that she desperately needs and that Janet can try to catch up on her bills.
As a single mother , she was without income to care for her daughter Macey , trying to cover gas to get to the hospital, hospital bills ( not everything is covered ) , copays , meds , mortgage , utilities and at times respite care.

Macey will also lose her hair due to the effects of ongoing chemo treatments — and will be in need of wigs as well. She will also need home modifications to assist in Maceys mobility/safety.

ABOUT MACEY
Macey has always been an extraordinary force of positivity and resilience. She is a wonderful daughter,  sister, and devoted granddaughter. She is extremely involved in fitness and has a love and passion for nutrition . Macey has lost her ability to attend the gym, yet she is confident she will gain something even greater through this journey, a new found perspective on living.

THE REALITY —-Maceys diagnosis has brought her life and Janet’s life to a screeching halt, presenting an overwhelming financial burden that they simply cannot bear alone. The sudden onset of cancer required immediate medical attention.  While in the hospital, Macey had a port put in her chest ,underwent bone marrow withdraw, critical chemo treatments, laboratory tests, doctor consultations, and was prescribed specialized medications and and is currently in her second phase of intensive treatment. Macey will require ongoing treatments for the next 2 1/2 years. We pray the chemo works and she remains in good spirits!!
