Help Macey get some wheels
Donation protected
For those that may not know, 30 year old Macey Hoaglund was diagnosed with that nastiest of diseases a couple years ago. Even now it causes me pain to type its letters out completely next to her name so I won't. It starts with and "A" and ends with "S" and has an "L" in the middle. Such a dumb ass of a disease, with absolutely no cure and essentially just a few approved treatments that my slow progression slightly. I would talk about what it does to people, and the statistical mortality rate but that also is too painful to actually type out so if you are curious feel free to google it and then check back.
Welcome back. That was shitty wasn't it? I wish I was the first person to say "That won't happen to me or any of my loved ones." It happens. It has happened. It is really shitty.
Here is the great part: Macey and her totally awesome dude Dustin have decided not to waste one tiny bit of time in the present agonizing about the future. After all it is totally unknown.
Dustin does an unbelievable job helping Macey day to day. He helps her with everything, including pushing her around in wheel chair.
She recently rented a very cool electric unit and was able to operate it well. This gave her great sense of mobility and independence. Dustin could take a break. It was a short term rental to try it out and she has decided it would benefit both of them greatly, so I am helping her raise some money to purchase the unit and accessories. Please consider tossing a little her way if you can, she and Dustin would be very humbled and thankful if we could meet her goal post haste. They are looking forward to enjoying and celebrating every single moment the future has to offer.
