Help Madeline Achieve Her Transition Goals

My name is Madeline, and I've been transitioning for 4+ years as a transwoman.

I've been medically diagnosed with gender dysphoria, and through several consultations with both my therapist and primary care providers, I've decided to move forward with having gender affirming surgeries, starting with breast augmentation. It was the only one they could get me in without too long of a waiting period.

Through discussions with both the surgeon and my insurance, this surgery could cost at minimum $8000, though there's a possibility it could cost more. My insurance said they would plan on paying 50% of the total cost, but have since gone radio silent on me after setting a surgery date of January 20th, which has left me in the dark on how much I would need to save up out of pocket.

I'm hoping to help raise funds to help me get the care I need, as well as assist me during the recovery period. I've hesitated for a long time on making one of these as I have personal hold ups from taking money from others, but I feel like I've been left with no other choice at this time. I don't make nearly enough from my job to pay $8000 out of nowhere, and I'll be forced on a minimum 3-week unpaid recovery leave from my job as well. Any donations received from this gofundme will go directly towards to cost of surgery. If I meet my goal, any additional funds will go towards living costs during those weeks I'll be unable to work.
