Help Madi Beat Neuroblastoma
Dear Friends,
You may have heard that Talon and Cynthia’s daughter, Madi, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in early August. Neuroblastoma is a rare form of childhood cancer that develops in nerve cells and adrenal glands. This type of cancer is typically found in young children, and is very rarely seen in children over 10. In general, adolescents suffer from more complications than younger patients and unfortunately that appears to be true in Madi’s case. Madi’s cancer was first found in a large tumor in her abdomen, but unfortunately it has also metastasized to her lymph nodes and bones.
Treatment options are still being developed but we do know that chemotherapy will begin immediately. Madi will remain in the hospital for her first round of chemotherapy, hopefully then discharged (this week, fingers crossed!!) to rest at home between follow-up chemotherapy treatments.
Madi is a true warrior, taking medals in swim meets and competing in state cross country events this summer despite the cancer that was hiding within.
We have created this fundraiser to help with medical and travel expenses during this difficult time. Treatments are expected to last over a year and will require frequent trips to Albuquerque and Colorado.
Thank you for your support. You've got this Madi! We love you!
