Help Maggie Plant Trees for Gretna's Future

Hello! My name is Maggie Foresman and I am a senior at Gretna High School. For my English Composition class, I get to make a change in the world relating to a topic I chose. I chose litter and air pollution because I dedicate a huge part of my life to the environment. I am interested in planting trees in Gretna as a way to support Gretna’s landscapes and go against pollution. When I began this project I got in touch with James Keepers. He is the Chairman of the Gretna Tree Board and an Arborist. With all the construction and new land development, I decided to protect the land we still have by planting trees! My goal is to raise $1000 for the Gretna Arbor Society to begin planting. If you are interested in planting your own tree, there will be an event at Lincoln Place Park in Gretna. This will take place on 05/04/2024 at 9:00 AM. Please bring a shovel and gloves if you are attending!
