Help Maggie Race the 2019 IM World Championships
Donation protected
Maggie Rettelle qualified for the 2019 Ironman World Championship at Ironman Chattanooga in 2018. This is a significant achievement for any triathlete as only 1-2% of any Ironman qualifying race is awarded slots. These slots are awarded to the top finishers in each age group and distributed in proportion to the number of finishers in that age group relative to the total finishers in the race. Long story short, in Chattanooga, Maggie had to finish in the top 2 in her age group out of 116 and she won her age group! It took many years and hours spent training to finally achieve this goal.
Maggie works as a registered dietitian and is a mother of 3 children. Competing in the Ironman World Championship Race in Kailua-Kona is an expensive endeavor. The fundraising total goal is not plucked out of the air. It is a pretty good estimate of cost incurred to do the race-$1000 for race registration, $1000 for airfare, $500 for tribike transport, $500 for food, and $1000 for hotel.
Disclaimer: I’m setting this up solely to cover Maggie’s costs. I’ll be accompanying her on the trip, but I will cover my costs for the trip in addition to helping Maggie as I am able.
Thank you for any and all donations to Maggie’s cause. I think I can speak for her and say it is greatly appreciated!
