''Hello, I am Mahmoud from Gaza, graduated from Al-Aqsa University - Faculty of Computers and Information Technology "IT".

I am launching this fundraiser via Sarah, because I still have hope of rebuilding and living on our land and this is my story:

My wedding was supposed to take place a month after my graduation, on November 14, 2023, but the war came to our beautiful city and turned everything upside down. 

In the first days of the war, the so-called Defense Army called us and claimed to be checking on us and telling us that we were in a safe area, We only saw the belts of fire approaching day after day until it was our turn to take our share of those belts of fire, but our share was very large.

On October 12, 2023, everything turned upside down. The occupation bombed "Mukhabarat" neighborhood, and we escaped death, thanks to God. This is the neighborhood where our family home and source of livelihood is located, the “bakery” where I worked during my university life.

The occupation completely destroyed the joy of my wedding, our home, and our bakery. All the wedding equipment inside the house turned into ashes in the blink of an eye. We could not take from our house enough clothes and our special needs. Unfortunately, everything turned to ashes: clothes, bedding, our beautiful memories, everything.

On October 13, 2023, we were displaced to southern Gaza under the threat of bombing. We have also been displaced more than three times.

Our displacement journey brought us to a house belonging to my relatives, which is completely uninhabitable and we do not have any of the basic necessities of life.

We received news from the northern Gaza Strip about shells falling on the building containing my apartment, where I was going to live my married life. This is the apartment that I bought one month before the war started, and I paid only one monthly installment, out of 8 years of the bank loan for this apartment.

The apartment was damaged, and the thieves stole what was inside.

For 7 months we have been suffering. We suffer from difficulty obtaining water, and we suffer from high prices for food, drink and clothing. We suffer from exploitation by merchants and sellers to raise the prices of goods. We suffer from a lack of cooking gas, so we resorted to cooking with firewood, and this hurts us a lot and brings us chest diseases.

We have lost our homes, our possessions, our livelihood, our loved ones, our joys, our memories, and we have taken nothing but suffering in this genocide. Despite everything that happened to us, we still have hope to survive on this earth and we do not want to leave it because we love it, and with God’s permission we will rebuild it again.

Please do not ignore our suffering, help me and my family to overcome the danger of war, and rebuild what we have lost.

بتاريخ 12 أكتوبر 2023، قصف الاحتلال حي في الأيام الأولى من الحرب، اتصل بنا ما يسمى بجيش الدفاع وادعى أنه يتفقدنا ويخبرنا بأننا في منطقة آمنة، ولم نشاهد سوى الأحزمة النارية تقترب يوما بعد يوم حتى جاء دورنا لنأخذ نصيبنا من تلك الأحزمة النارية، لكن نصيبنا كان كبيرا جدا.

وفي 12 أكتوبر 2023، انقلب كل شيء رأسًا على عقب. الاحتلال يقصف حي "المخابرات" ونجونا من الموت بفضل الله. هذا هو الحي الذي يقع فيه منزل عائلتنا ومصدر رزقنا، "المخبز" الذي عملت فيه خلال حياتي الجامعية.

لقد دمر الاحتلال فرحة زفافي ومنزلنا ومخبزنا بشكل كامل. جميع معدات الزفاف داخل المنزل تحولت إلى رماد في غمضة عين. لم نستطع أن نأخذ من منزلنا ما يكفي من الملابس واحتياجاتنا الخاصة. لسوء الحظ، تحول كل شيء إلى رماد: الملابس، الفراش، ذكرياتنا الجميلة، كل شيء.

بتاريخ 13 أكتوبر 2023، تم تهجيرنا إلى جنوب غزة تحت تهديد القصف. لقد تم تهجيرنا أيضاً أكثر من ثلاث مرات.

رحلة نزوحنا أوصلتنا إلى منزل أقاربي، وهو غير صالح للسكن على الإطلاق ولا نملك أياً من مقومات الحياة الأساسية.

وصلتنا أخبار من شمال قطاع غزة عن سقوط قذائف على المبنى الذي يضم شقتي، حيث كنت سأعيش حياتي الزوجية. هذه هي الشقة التي اشتريتها قبل شهر من بدء الحرب، ودفعت قسطًا شهريًا واحدًا فقط، من أصل 8 سنوات من القرض البنكي لهذه الشقة. ولحقت أضرار بالشقة، وسرق اللصوص ما بداخلها.

منذ 7 أشهر ونحن نعاني. نعاني من صعوبة الحصول على المياه، ونعاني من ارتفاع أسعار الطعام والشراب والملابس. نعاني من استغلال التجار والبائعين لرفع أسعار البضائع. نعاني من نقص غاز الطبخ، لذلك لجأنا إلى الطبخ بالحطب، وهذا يؤلمنا كثيراً ويجلب لنا أمراضاً صدرية.

لقد فقدنا بيوتنا وممتلكاتنا وأرزاقنا وأحبائنا وأفراحنا وذكرياتنا، ولم نتحم لنأخذ سوى المعاناة في هذه الإبادة الجماعية. ورغم كل ما حدث لنا، لا يزال لدينا أمل في البقاء على هذه الأرض ولا نريد أن نتركها لأننا نحبها، وبإذن الله سنعيد بنائها من جديد.

من فضلك لا تتجاهل معاناتنا، وكن سبباً في إنقاذنا من الإبادة الجماعية. ساعدوني وعائلتي في التغلب على خطر الحرب، وإعادة بناء ما فقدناه.
