Mahmoud's journey to reconstruct his and his family's future
Hello, my name is Giulia, I'm a designer from Italy and I'm starting this fundraising on behalf of my dear friend Mahmoud Haytham Al-Shantti, who is in daily contact with me from Gaza.
Mahmoud is 21 year old and before the start of the genocide he was studying to become a software engineer, following the steps of his older brother who is in Egypt. The situation in Gaza is critical, as we all know. Mahmoud's family home and his university have been destroyed, him and his family have been displaced three times. Although Mahmoud's family is partly in Egypt, they haven't been granted the permit to evacuate officially early in the conflict and are now facing a difficult time.
His family in Gaza is composed of his parents (both nurses), his older brother and his wife, and his younger brother (who was studying IT), while his third brother is in Egypt, where they all wish to evacuate.
All funds raised will serve to cover the high cost of evacuation for each member of the family, the commissions of the fundraising and as a base to cover Mahmoud studies in Egypt. All funds will be directly transfer to Mahmoud's brother in Egypt, who will organise the evacuation on his behalf.
Mahmoud is a very kind, loving, clever person and I'll be grateful if all of us together could make a difference in his life and give him the hope and future that he deserves.
I'll now share Mahmoud's words and pictures directly with you:
^^***^^
Hello, my name is Mahmoud Haytham Al-Shantti, I am 21 years old. I live in Gaza.
I was studying at Al-Azhar University, majoring in software engineering. I would have started with professional and academic stability at this important stage in my life, and I had achievements related to my future, but the reality imposed another life on us and left us from our homes since the beginning of the war. Our memories are destroyed and our home is destroyed and our university is destroyed.
My achievements in my studies were wasted, and now I hope for job stability has become restricted, as I cannot work. There is no electricity, there is no internet, there is no place designated for work, and there is no safe place.
We don't know where and when we will be displaced and left again. Our maximum daily work has become to provide fresh water for my family and regular water for other daily needs, as well as food and dress, and many more burdens that are rare in our lives during the war. Despite the simplicity of the words, it is very difficult to provide this in these tragic circumstances.
Please save my family and help me save the rest of my ambition to complete my studies and rebuild our house. I hope to settle down safely with my family and start a new and safe life again.

These are the words Mahmoud wants to share with you, which describe well the situation in Gaza:
"If you survive death, you will suffer for the rest of your days until you die."
