Help Maia with her Gender Affirming Surgery

Hi there,

My name is Maia, and I'm fundraising for my Gender Reassignment Surgery (GRS),

As a transgender person who experiences severe gender dysphoria, the ability to have this surgery would be life-changing, as well as life-saving. This will enable me to live a fuller, happier life - the life I was meant to have - without the constant anxiety and anguish that comes with my current circumstances.

As much positive change as I have experienced in the past 3 years since beginning my transition, nothing is able to overshadow the pain that having the incorrect genitals gives me. It consumes my thoughts, and some days is all I can think about, and this has unfortunately at times taken a drastic toll on my mental health.

Unfortunately, GRS is not only physically challenging, but expensive, and far out of the current financial capabilities of a full-time university student, who is only able to partake in part-time work, and who has few people who would be able to help financially with this procedure.

As a result of my transition, I have been cut-off over half of my family, and I know this surgery is not something I will be able to fund myself.

Any small amount would be greatly appreciated, or even just being able to share this gofundme with others who may be able to help.

Donated funds will go towards:

- Necessary laboratory tests: CBC, EKG, UA, Anti-HIV, Chest X-Ray

- Medical equipment and supplies.

- General anesthesia.

- Medical treatments.

- Doctor fees.

- Take-home medication and supplies.

- Post-operative visits.

- Transportation service.

As well as accommodation for the duration of my stay required for surgery.
