Help Maine Blackflies Underdogs Get to Playoffs!

The Maine Blackflies are Waterville’s first New Balance Select Baseball League team. This was their first season as a team/program, and to be honest, they had no idea what this season would bring. They were a ragtag group of little leaguers at the beginning of the season.

Through hard work, dedication to team and family, and sheer grit, they have emerged as the 11U-Division II, first-place champs in Maine. Against all odds, they are currently undefeated, with two ties. With a bye in the first-round playoffs, this ragtag group will be heading to the New Balance Select League playoffs as the number one seed.

However, with this fantastic success comes unexpected costs—travel, hotel, food—as the playoffs are held at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, Massachusetts. Help support the team to get to the playoffs and beyond. For the entire team to attend the playoffs and, because they’re dreaming big, the regionals, they will need 13 hotel rooms for two separate weekend-long tournaments. The group estimates that this will cost the players and their families over $10,000.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 for the first weekend. Any overage will go toward travel expenses to help alleviate burdens on the families in the future.
