Help Maja get better for her boys and husband!

Maja (Perkovic) Marinkovic is a 41 year old mom of two boys, Maxim (3) and Noah (8), happily married to her husband Vanja. Maja lives in Bosnia now but she spent about 13 years (1999-2012) in Phoenix, Arizona where we met and a friendship flourished between us until our paths parted.

About 2 years ago Maja was diagnosed with colon cancer. In the last year, she has had 2 surgeries as things escalated with metastasis. She has lost about 20 kg (over 40 lbs) and is currently very weak, in pain, and unable to work. Financially, it is already quite difficult for the family. Every month she needs about 1,500 euros to cover the expenses for therapies, medicines, and supplements. For the most part, these are not medical protocol therapies, as in her current physical condition, chemotherapy is not a viable option. She adheres to alternative methods and takes many nutritional supplements to be able to strengthen her body and fight this horrible disease. She is already seeing some positive effects from the therapies and we sincerely hope this will continue.

As you can imagine, this is an extremely challenging time in Maja's life and we, as her friends, really wish to help and support her - both mentally and financially. This is our initiative that she agreed to as she is not able to work, and supporting a household of 4 and all the additional expenses is a strain on her family. As Maja goes through various states of mind, from desperation to motivation and hope, while tolerating physical pain, our goal is to show compassion and care and help her financially so that she can focus on healing and not on survival. Because, despite all the pain and the challenges at the moment, we strongly believe that she can heal and recover. There are many things worth living for and she needs to stay in this world to be here for her boys and her husband. And in such situations, she certainly needs to be encouraged and feel the support of the people around her - both near and far. Please donate what you can and pray pray pray for healing!
