Help Makayla Mason Fight Cancer

Help support Makayla Mason & Family with their fight against Bone Cancer It is with anguished heart that I watch how quickly someone’s life can be turned upside down and changed forever. Yet a young strong girl remains positive and continues to smile throughout it all. 11 year old Makayla Mason (my daughters’ best friend) was experiencing pain and swelling in her ankle. Through several trips to the local hospital to have this checked out and still not knowing what was causing the pain and swelling. Sandra and Bill Mason were referred to and took their daughter to Sick Kids hospital in Toronto to ensure that their daughter was receiving the best possible care for this unidentified illness. Visits were fast and furious and only a short 2 week’s later Makayla was diagnosed with bone Cancer in her leg. The Mason family with their Friends banded together for Makayla and remained strong despite this dreadful news, all the while Makayla remained positive and continued to smile.  Just over a week after diagnoses Makayla went into surgery to amputate the lower portion of her leg to remove the cancer. I can’t even imagine what this family and strong young girl are going through in such a heart-breaking and scary time. It takes everything in my power to hold it together when just thinking about it knowing that we can do nothing to stop what she is going through. What we can do is reach out and try my best to ask others to assist me in raising funds to help the Mason family with added medical expenses in an already difficult time. To help Makayla get the best medical treatment and physio now and well into the future to ensure that her brave and heart warming smile remains on her face for all to enjoy and her future is filled with hope and drive to succeed without the worry and stress that comes with the medical expenses. All of us together can take that burden off this family and brave girl so they can concentrate on fighting this cancer and thinking about her bright future and being a family and not having to think about money and trivial expenses that will surly arise to assist in Makayla’s full recovering and adaptation to life with a prosthetic and the challenges that come with that.
