Help Makayla and Kates fight for life.

Makayla Board, a 7 year old Townsville girl, has had the terrible misfortune of a diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. An cancer requiring chemotherapy to treat. Her mother Kate, has also been admitted into ICU with myocarditis causing heart failure.

She very recently went to the Doctor to have her tonsils removed and the examination of her health from that revealed she has a type of cancer.

Makayla is required to move to Brisbane on recommendations from medical professionals for further diagnosis and treatment for at least the next 12 months. Her dad, Raymond, is a full-time tradesman, and her Mum, Kate, is leaving work, and re-locating to Brisbane to support Makayla, and be with her every step of the way through this misfortune. 

The  funds raised from this outreach, will be used for multiple branches of family support and the costs of treatment for Makayla. The family cannot leverage savings or assets to support the costs, and in their current situation, Raymond will continue working to support the rent for their Townsville home, their 3 children, and the livings costs associated with Kate now being admitted into intensive care.

The goal is to provide enough support for the family for at least the 12 months that has been proposed for Makaylas time in treatment and the costs associated with her treatment, and Kates recovery time. 

It is difficult to put a dollar value on the cost of this and the impact it has on a life, both for the treatment in 12 months, and the life-long impact it will have on Makayla, Kate and the family. The suffering caused by the uncertainty of this is immeasurable, the impact of the outcome highly uncertain, and the best thing for everyone, is to be together through this time. It would be ideal to have the family not have to worry about money, and to be together as much as possible, not separated.

This go-fund-me has been set up for the Board family by a friend, and will be managed for them until the they are ready to take control of it.

I believe Makayla will need to have both her mum, dad, brother and sister with her through this.
