Help make 558 Capp St Accessible!

Tax deductible
Help Make the San Francisco home of the National Lawyers Guild and the SF Tenants Union Safer and More Accessible!

558 Capp Street is a hub of activism in the Mission and it has been for over 30 years.  This Victorian building is over 100 years old and has not been renovated in many many years.  In addition to the National Lawyers Guild and the San Francisco Tenants Union, 558 Capp Street currently houses Prison Radio -  all at extremely low rent.  The building is owned by the non-profit Bay Area Community Law Foundation, the sole purpose of which is to support its tenant organizations.

In line with our social justice values and pursuant to a San Francisco ordinance, we hope to enter into 2020 with the financial ability to plan and make the permitted renovations necessary to make 558 Capp Street a safer and more accessible space.  This includes rebuilding the porch roof and columns that are now rotting and fixing other trip hazards caused by settling, putting in handrails, and whatever else we can afford that is technically feasible.

If we are able to raise $10,000 by the new year, a generous donor has offered to MATCH this amount, which would allow us to begin this project in early 2020!  Please consider making a tax deductible donation to BACLF to help us reach our $10,000 goal and double your impact.  Your donation - big or small - will help us create a more welcoming and accessible space for our community.  Thank you!
