Help Make It All Good for Keith Hobgood
My name is Susan Keiger and I am organizing this fundraising on behalf of Keith Hobgood, wife, Shannon Wolfe, and family.
Recently our precious friends received devastating news. Keith has been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer near his sinus area. Treatment is only available at a limited number of facilities, none of them local. After researching their options, Keith was referred to St. John Hopkins Hospital in Maryland. Since his initial consultation with a doctor, things have moved quickly.
Due to the complexity of this surgery, the hospital has organized a surgical team. As the estimated time for the surgery is 18 hours. In preparation for surgery, they have had to make frequent trips to Maryland for the additional scans and tests to be done. They have now met with the entire surgery team and have scheduled his surgery for June 3rd No more trips to Maryland until the surgery.
It is expected that Keith will need to stay in the hospital for approximately 2 weeks. Then he will come home for a month then return to John Hopkins for intense radiation for 6-8 weeks. During this time, they will stay in Maryland.
This GoFundMe Me has been set up to help assist Keith’s family with the household and medical bills that are starting to accrue while he is just beginning this tough battle. Although balancing their jobs, doctor visits, and other family obligations has been exhausting, they’ve continued to work as much as possible until the surgery. As there will be times when work will not be an option.
Now this is where we can help. The cost of gas, food, and lodging has already started with the frequent trips to Maryland. I am hoping that we will be able to rally our dear friends to help ease the financial strain that is just starting.
If you are not able to make a monetary donation there are other ways to help. While Keith and Shannon are away, we will need to check on Sienna and Yaya. If you are able to offer a ride for appointments, a ride to the grocery store, or just a quick phone call, it will be greatly appreciated. They have a long road ahead of them.
