Hello! My name is George Lumb and many of you will know me through my content on Twitter, TikTok and Instagram as Blue's BBQ. I am raising money to open a community-focused barbecue supply store that will act as a one-stop shop for all of your grilling and barbecue needs.

While working from home during the height of the pandemic I fell absolutely in love with barbecue. As a content creator on Twitch for many years I knew there was content to be made while I learned and grew as a cook. I began making daily posts to Twitter and after about a year I started making regular uploads to TikTok and Instagram as well. As those channels grew my passion grew with them but I hit a stumbling block over and over: getting supplies to make the food I wanted to make was expensive and tedious. I prefer to go to the store and get the things I need right away and this meant driving all over town to pick up what I could from different stores but ultimately there were always things I would have to order online. On top of that, I would end up paying extra for shipping and the products available on Amazon with "free shipping" just had that extra cost built into the price of the products.

There had to be a faster and less expensive way to get what I needed and get back home to start doing what I love.

This is where the idea of ROC BBQ Supply came from. This store will be built from the ground up with the barbecue and grilling enthusiast in mind. We will not be competing with big box stores and we will not be marking products up. ROC BBQ Supply will have the sauces, rubs, pellets, charcoal, grills and tools real fans of outdoor cooking use and enjoy.

Gone are the days of settling for whatever the hardware store has in stock or waiting days for the right product to be delivered. Our goal will be to have everything in stock and ready when you need it.

Opening a store like this is expensive, like REALLY expensive. We need retail space as well as warehouse space and this will also require some type of fork truck as grills and cooking fuel come in on pallets and weigh thousands of pounds. We will need shelving, registers and shopping carts. There is so much that goes into making something like this happen, but it is doable and it is getting done.

Once the retail store is established and open, I will be focusing part of my energy on an online store that will ship to the continental United States. This will not solve the issues of time spent waiting for products or paying extra for shipping but orders will be filled quickly and precisely.

The more I can put into this with your help, along with grants for small businesses, the less debt I will have to take on to make this happen which will lower my stress levels and grant me more energy to put into making this store everything I know it can be.
