Help with Tim Riley's final expenses

Hi, my name is Elesha and I am raising money for my dad. A few months ago, my father was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The docs had caught the cancer early, but the MDS, it would seem, had progressed too far and too fast...

When we all got together at Christmas '22, no one would have guessed we would be here now. Tim was his energetic, helpful, caring, good and healthy individual we have known him to be all our lives. The quintessential good dad both in action and name.

Come May, we got the shock of our lives, as we got the news that dad would be starting the fight of this. Tim fought it for several months, enduring chemo and other treatments to try to make a dent in his symptoms, but the treatments didn't work. The cancer has spread, and he is suffering the horrible side effects of the treatments to this day.

Last week, we found out he was on a clock, with much too little time left on it, 6 months at most. At this point there is not a cure, and there are no more treatments left to try that would help more than they hurt.

My parents are both retired, and Social Security/Medicare doesn't cover near enough. Between high medical bills, a house that everything seems to need fixing on it (at the worst possible time), the need to pay for upcoming final expenses (without life insurance), funding his celebration of life, and wanting to make the last few months with as little stress as they can be for Tim, we are going to need some help... It is just not what my dad, mom, brothers and I had planned for. The money for it all isn't there. All funds will go to Tim/Joy (my mom) to cover the mounting bills, and towards Tim's final expenses. Times are tough for everyone, I know.

*Edit - We made it to Christmas '23. What was unlikely, happened. Can't thank God enough for the time we have had, that the docs didn't think we would.

*Edit - Tim entered into heaven on February 16th. He was surrounded by loved ones at the time.
