Help Makennah get to Hollywood!

This fundraiser is for my daughter, Makennah. She is 12 years old and has been dancing for 7 years. She is extremely active in her studio, training for 14 hours a week for both recitals and competitions, and still finds the time to play the violin, serve on Student Council, and consistently make Honor Roll. Makennah learns and performs two solos and 11 group dances a year, between recital and competition, and this year she has added a trio to the lineup. She is one of the most ambitious kids I know.

Makennah's dream, for years now, has been to continue her dance training after school to make a career out of her natural talent -- and she hopes to open her own studio once she has aged out of the industry. She loves to share her love of dance, and it shows!

This past weekend Makennah won the prestigious award of "Outstanding Dancer" at Celebration Talent Competition. With this award, she was presented with an invitation and $500 scholarship to the Hollywood Summer Tour (or HST).

HST is an extremely sought-after Career Dance Intensive that takes place in Hollywood this summer. It is intended for elite dancers who are serious about learning about, and one day entering into, the commercial dance industry in Hollywood. It will provide Makennah with not only a deep understanding of the industry, but also necessities such as professional head shots/action shots, a professional dance reel for her resume, and the opportunity to dance in a music video for an upcoming artist! She will also take multiple intensive classes and be mentored by top industry professionals, including Talent Agencies.

This is an amazing opportunity for Makennah and I am going to do everything in my power to help her get to HST, but even with the scholarship it is very expensive. I am asking for any assistance, big or small, to help offset this tuition cost.
