Help Barry Koper Recover

Barry Koper, a renowned member of the professional makeup community, needs our support. His incredible work has graced the screens in movies like “Santa Clause Films", “Alien: Resurrection,” “Scary Movie 2 & 3.” Island of Dr. Moreau", and his pioneering digital blue and green makeup on "The Hollow man" to name a few. Now, it’s our turn to give back.

About Barry:

• Barry has been a dedicated Local 706 union member

since 1978, teaching many new members classes on Color

theory, Bald Caps, Prosthetics & Air Brush.

• John Chambers, a legend in the industry, personally

recommended Barry to run the makeup EFX Lab at CBS

TV City.

• Barry’s creativity and talent led him to become the

Department Head at the studio, a role he held for 8 years.

• In the late 1970s, Barry created “The Face,” a revolutionary

makeup kit that inspired countless young people who are

makeup artists today.

The Challenge:

• Health issues forced Barry into early retirement.

• Recently, he spent 36 days in the ER and the hospital,

leaving him with more health complications than

expected.

• Prolonged bed rest at the hospital has taken a toll on his

mobility; he now relies on use of a walker.

Our Mission:

• Barry lives alone and needs in-home care for the next 6 to

15 months.

• Medical bills are draining his savings, which he had

planned to use during his retirement.

• Our goal is to help him recover fully and regain his

independence.

• Please help us raise $75k for his in-home care.
