Help Malakai recover after a 13 day coma

Hello,

I am Karis Wilde. I’m asking for financial and emotional support for my sister, Malakai. 

I have heartbreaking news that she was placed in a medically induced coma from January 30th to feb 13th due to exacerbated Pneumonia Influenza that progressed into a life-threatening condition. She required a machine—essentially an artificial lung—to save her life. Still, it has left her lungs in a fragile condition, struggling to regain full respiratory function. She was in a coma to fight the infection, which has turned into a complicated battle due to the weakness of her lungs. She also went into kidney failure, and fortunately, her kidney function has improved. She will need several surgeries before she can begin the long and challenging road to recovery.

 

Malakai has been living in Berlin, and was in the middle of fixing her visa when this occurred. Her health insurance was canceled due to a lapse in paperwork, leaving us with the overwhelming reality that much of her medical care will have to be paid out of pocket. We are working hard to resolve this. In the meantime, I want to ensure that she only focuses on healing when she wakes up—not financial stress.

The hospital bills will be exorbitant, Topping 300k. No matter how big or small Your financial contributions will make a difference, as they will go directly toward Malakai’s medical expenses, ensuring she receives the care she needs to recover fully. 

I will intermittently share updates on her condition since we are overwhelmed and working tirelessly to take care of everything.
