Help Malaya Get a Life-Saving Liver Transplant
Malaya was diagnosed with Acute Liver Failure caused by Wilson's Disease. Wilson's Disease is a very rare liver disease, it is inherited and must be treated in Seattle, WA. The only cure is a liver transplant. Malaya is at Swedish Medical in Seattle, undergoing the qualification process to be placed on the liver donor list. After approval, Malaya will be put on a liver donor list. This list is organized by blood type and MELD score. The MELD score is the level of damage the liver has. The wait time could be a week or a few months.
Malaya is blessed with having her parents, Hank and Janet, and her brother Luke and his family live in Seattle during this time. Malaya's daughter Jordyn and her family are tending to all of Malaya's fur babies and home chores at home.
Malaya's life depends on getting the treatment she needs. It is anticipated that Malaya will remain in Seattle for an extended amount of time prior to and after the liver transplant.
Malaya will need help with expenses as they navigate through this.
