Help Mallorie and her Family fight Cancer
Donation protected
Just a quick introduction, we are the Brown Family and we are reaching out to help our Employee Shaun, his Wife Mallorie, and their 2 year old son Keaton. Mallorie and Shaun moved in 2019 from New Brunswick to Kelowna, British Columbia after Mallorie got a job opportunity in the Okanagan.
Shaun seeked employment and started his job at Maxum Automotive Refinishing around the same time. Soon afterward they got the amazing news that they were going to have a baby, and on November 11, 2021 their son Keaton arrived. Everything was going great until April 2022, when Mallorie noticed something on her leg. It was diagnosed as Melanoma, and she had surgery to have it removed. Mallorie kept up with regular check ups afterwards.
However, in August of this year Mallorie was having some pain issues. It was confirmed that she now has Melanoma in her lymph nodes. They also discovered a spot on her liver which is right now in the testing stage. Mallorie started Immunotherapy at the beginning of October 2023 to see if the tumors could shrink so that they can operate to remove the Cancer. The Immunotherapy treatment she is receiving has many side effects such as pain, weakness, and migraines. Because of this, Mallorie has trouble lifting and caring for Keaton, which results in Sean having to leave work to help. Unfortunately, Immunotherapy can also cause long term side effects such as birth defects, sterilization, colitis and diabetes. Additionally, they are also now single income family as Mallories’s job ended after her Maternity Leave.
Mallorie and Shaun reached out to Mamas for Mamas to see if they could help with Daycare for Keaton. They were provided temporary help for 16 hours for the month of October which is set to expire at the end of this month. They also signed up for daycare when Mallorie was pregnant, but they are still on a 4 year waitlist.
We are absolutely heartbroken for the hardship that has been dealt to this young family, and we greatly appreciate any donations you could make. Mallorie, Shaun, and Keaton have had such an impact on our lives, and we want to return the favour now, especially in this time of need. Anything helps, thank you.
