Help Mallory see her mother again

Hi there. My name is Mallory. I'm the girl in the photo above. I am raising money for travel expenses to see my elderly (79 years old) mother. It has been seven years since I've been able to travel to see her. She has dementia and recurring klebsiella infections, and despite extensive medical care is failing to thrive. She has lost weight rapidly and continues to do so without explanation. My father (84 years old) told me this weekend that I need to make arrangements to travel from my home in Massachusetts to their home in North Carolina, to see my mother for what will perhaps be the last time.

They live in a hoarded, 50-year-old mobile home, one that I cannot possibly stay in for both sanitary and space reasons, not to mention the toll it would take on my emotional well-being. I will therefore need a hotel while I am there, as a space to rest peacefully and sort through my emotions. Due to my father's failing vision and my mother's need for constant supervision, I will also need to rent a vehicle.

I currently live paycheck to paycheck, as many of us do, and my parents are on a severely fixed income. While my airfare will be taken care of, I do not have the necessary funds to procure accommodations and a vehicle while visiting. So I come to the public to ask for assistance in making this trip as easy as it possibly can be for everyone involved.

As I have yet to book my flight, I'm unsure how long I will be staying in North Carolina. I estimate between 3 and five days. Hotel prices average $150 per night nearby my parents' house, and the fee for the rental car will vary depending on which airport I fly into. I am asking for $2000 as a safety net, and any money left over after my trip will be given to my parents for their expenses.
