Help Mama Ann Get Back on Her Feet
Donation protected
We all love Mama Ann.
Ms. Ann Mickel was a staple in the Oberlin College community. She served in the financial aid department for 19 years and touched many young lives during her time. She helped students navigate the challenges of the financial aid office, which for many first generation college students, was a steep learning curve. She was a hidden gem in the financial aid office who went to bat for her “babies.”
In typical Mama Ann fashion, she made herself available to her numerous adopted Oberlin children. She opened up her home on several occasions to students that needed a place to unwind. She even loaned her car to students who needed rides to and fro. She was an avid member of the Africana community at Oberlin and now she needs our help.
Mama Ann has been battling health challenges for several years now. She has done her best to keep up with the cost of medications , appointments, rent, food, etc., but a recent hospitalization has left her unemployed with bills piling up.
We have the ability to come together to assist her. In the same way children grow to aid their parents, our Mama Ann is in need of some help. Whatever you can give is a blessing. Please, no donation is too small.
A person like Ann Mickel should be rewarded for her kindness and service to our community. Even if you did not know her personally, please join us in helping her get back on her feet.
