Community Supporting Mama T's Smokin' Eats

Hi All,

I’m a friend and patron of Tanya’s, and I’m helping to kickstart this campaign to boost her in a call to action.

Many unforeseen circumstances have caused her to continually reinvest money into her establishment, and her business expenses are such that there is no additional money to invest in much needed improvements to not only better serve patrons, but to effectively and efficiently operate and function without anymore disruptions.

My team is the absolute world to me. Each one of them gives 100% each and every day to their customers. I am so so proud of all of them.

Now, the challenges…

Unfortunately, I have had too many...MANY MAJOR repairs as the building is old. In the 1st year:

-The roof leaked

- The hood fan went out, losing an entire day of business.

- The Cooler Motor System shut down and broke. All the food was lost and 2 business days of closure.

- Retaining wall collapsed

- Plumbing issues, ripped out the bathroom walls and repairs.

- Old equipment repairs monthly for old equipment.

2nd year:

- Replacement of fire system

- Bay Window replacements due to rot, leaking, completely broke and feel apart.

- Door Replacement: same walls; window, due to rot, leaking, completely broke and feel apart.

- Fix beam under kitchen; started to sink and bow.

- Now, cooler collapsed

The wall, the door, and floor have to be replaced to stabilize. Turns out the entire building needs to be supported. Electrical panels need to be replaced. I already had to take out a loan for the 1st year repairs.

Any extra money is gone.

Looking for help:

- Donations and GoFundMe to go towards repair costs.

- Bank to refinance at a low rate to pay off current loan and new loan.

- Help with grant writing and finding grants to help with new cooler, repair of cooler, insulation under building, new efficient equipment to replace all broken old appliances, update fire system for kitchen, and electrical panel replacement.

I am 100% woman owned, small business without any investors...it's just me.

Unfortunately, I live a couple of blocks into the Village and I'm not able to take advantage of the wonderful small business grants for new businesses. I also am not considered rural, so I can't apply for those too.

If anyone knows of any grants, I am in huge need of a new cooler and to upgrade the tiny kitchen, so we can keep up and stop running out of food.
