Help mamma Renè so she can help others

Ciao, sono Jeremy, il figlio di Rene Felton Besozzi.

Mia madre è stata colpita da un Ictus Ischemico il 23 Ottobre mentre si trovava negli Stati Uniti; mio fratello Andrew è stato il primo ad apprendere l'accaduto, ha ricevuto una chiamata alle 2 di notte, ora italiana, in cui un'amica, nonchè ospitante di nostra madre, l'ha informato che mamma era in coma farmacologico. Si sono susseguite ore di paura e incertezza, spaventati dall'idea di poterla perdere per sempre, ma fortunatamente, grazie alla sua resilienza, dopo meno di 24 ore siamo stati messi al corrente del suo risveglio; Andrew ha preso il primo volo disponibile per raggiungerla e starle vicino, io, con mio grande dispiacere, sono dovuto rimanere in Italia per ragioni economiche, ma con la testa e il cuore ero in quella camera d'ospedale a LA con loro. I primi giorni sono stati indubbiamente duri ed eravamo tutti tormentati dalla costante paura che l'ictus potesse lasciarle segni permanenti e che mamma non sarebbe più tornata ad essere la persona solare, energica e piena di vita che tutti conosciamo. Quando, il quarto giorno, in videochiamata, sono riuscito a rivederla e sentirle pronunciare la prima parola, ho percepito per la prima volta uno spiraglio di luce e speranza.

Siamo stati successivamente informati che l'ictus ha colpito la parte sinistra del cervello, con conseguente paralisi di tutta la parte destra del corpo e completa perdita di padronanza della sua lingua madre, l'inglese. Merito della sua enorme forza di volontà e del suo spirito combattivo, e supportata dalla vicinanza di tutti i suoi cari, nostra madre ha iniziato un recupero costante e progressivo che l'ha portata in meno di una settimana a riacquisire completa capacità di comprensione e comunicazione (in italiano). Fin da bambina mamma ha sempre avuto la vocazione a curare le persone in difficoltà, a partire da suo padre; a Rieti, nostra città natale, è conosciuta come ex-allenatrice di Andrew, mia attuale allenatrice, ma in primis come curatrice, guadagnandosi negli anni l'appellativo benevolo di "maga", data la grande passione e propensione ad aiutare persone con patologie e problemi fisico-motori. Poichè nostra madre ha dato così tanto a tutti noi, all'interno e all'esterno della nostra comunità, adesso è il nostro turno per aiutarla come ciascuno di noi può, dandole ognuno una piccola mano.

L'aiuto che vi chiedo servirà per saldare le onerose spese mediche in America.

Per nostra fortuna qui in Italia il percorso riabilitativo è coperto dallo stato e, confidiamo la farà tornare capace di aiutare tutti noi, come ha sempre fatto :D

Hi, i'm Jeremy, Renè Felton Besozzi's son. My mum has had a stroke on the 23rd of October while she was in the US; my brother Andrew was the first to be informed, at 2am he received a call from a friend of our mother, saying that she was in an induced coma. The following hours have been full of fear and unsureness, we feared of losing our mum.

Luckily, thanks to her willpower, after less than 24 hours she woke up; Andrew took the first flight available, to be near her, I, on the other hand, had to stay here in Italy for economic reasons, but with my mind and heart I was with them in that hospital room in LA.

The first few days have been the hardest and we were all afraid that the stroke could have affected her permanently and that our mother wouldn't go back to being the cheerful, energic and full of life woman that we all know.

On the fourth day, via videochat, I was able to see her and hear her first word and for the first time I saw a glimmer of light in this dark moment. We have been later informed that the stroke hit the left side of the brain, meaning complete paralysis of the right side of her body and loss of the ability to speak english, her mother language.

Thanks to her force of will and her fighting nature, supported by all her loved ones, our mum has began a constant and progressive recovery that has led her, in less than a week, to regain complete ability of comprehension and communication in italian. She has always had a calling for helping the ones in need since she was a child, starting from her father; in Rieti, our hometown, she's known as Andrew's ex-coach, mine as well, but mainly she is known as a healer, in fact she got the loving appellative of mage, because of her passion for helping people with pathologies and physical-motor problems. Since our mother gave so much to all of us, our community, inside and out, now it's our turn to help her, each one in its own possible way.

The help i'm asking is going to cover the expensive medical bills in the US and the recovery journey she has to face, that i am confident it'll get her able to go back helping us, as she has always done.
