Help Mandy on her road to recovery!

Hi my name is Carly, and I’m starting this fundraiser for one of my dearest and longest friends Mandy Lemieux. On August 20th 2021 she was involved in a very serious collision with a pickup truck while riding a moped on salt spring island. She fractured her femur in 3 places, her hip, shattered her knee and chipped her L2 vertebra. She also broker her nose and had a laceration to her face that required stitches. She had surgery to replace her knee cap and had surgery on her femur that required rods and screws. She also has torn almost every tendon and damaged the nerves in her knee, which may require another surgery (currently waiting for doctors confirmation). She is currently in foothills hospital and after she will be moving to a rehabilitation facility, currently the timeline before she is home is 8-12 weeks, This could change if the additional surgery is required. However, once she’s home she will still need additional care to aid with daily tasks.

With this fundraiser we hope the be able to raise some funds to help with medical costs (including physiotherapy, any medical equipment she may need) as well as to help the family in any way we can (meals, bills, anything the kids may need, etc).

Mandy is always there for everyone and now it’s time we rally for her.

All funds raised will go directly to Mandy and her family.
