Help Marc with recovery from COVID

Dear Family and Friends, as you know Marc was diagnosed with COVID 19 on August 9, 2021. Marc was admitted to the Hospital August 13. Marc had all kinds of treatment with no improvement. Marc stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated with CPR on August 26, and he was placed on Life support (Ventilator.) He has remained on the ventilator since the 26th of August. Palos Hospital said that he is THEE longest surviving ventilator covid patient they’ve had  ❤️ Marc is improving but there is still along way to go.

They are planning on moving Marc to an LTACH, Long Term Care Facility to continue care, wean from the Vent and Rehab him where he will learn to walk, talk, and do simple things such as eat again. Prayers are needed that they take good care of him and he continues to heal.

Marc’s progress is hopeful but the reality of laying in bed for 2 months, takes its toll. Marc has lost muscle mass in his legs, calves and shoulders, his skin has suffered and he has lost about 70 lbs. In spite of that Marc is stronger than he should be, still lifting his arms and legs, wanting desperately to get out of the bed.

We are so very thankful but it is also very heartbreaking what COVID takes from you, even if you survive it. In spite of all this Marc still has love, kisses and smiles to give. Please pray for strength for all of us that we can be as strong as Marc, he is truly our Hero.

The family has held on tight but now Marc’s insurance is ending and he will need to pay COBRA, which is very pricey per month and with no end to this nightmare in sight, we will have to pay into this for many months to come.

Marc’s income has ended and will unfortunately likely never be able to work again. Every day health costs outside of what insurance covers and Home expenses are growing quickly. Marc also has two dogs, Beckham and Lacy, that were his whole world at home who now need to be cared for.

Please help Marc in his time of need like he has for so many throughout his life.
