Help Marcella Pay for Medical Bills

Hi friends, for those of you that may not know me, my name is Marcella. I have had a complex and very heartbreaking year with my health, and could use any support with my medical bills that you can muster. For many of you, this may be the first you are hearing about this, so I thank you for taking your time to read my story.

 

I have had various wide spread health issues over the past year (and most of my life) that have landed me in the ER many times or in doctors / specialists offices, and the bills that have accrued have become insurmountable. I was able to receive a one time medical financial assistance at the end of December that got me by until now, but alas as newer dates of service continue to be processed by insurance I am in another impossible situation financially. The amount to be paid in a monthly payment plan is entirely out of reach for me, and I have put off asking for assistance from my community, but I am in desperate need of it.

 

In late October I was forced to quit my part time job after increasingly progressive pain in my low back and legs. After 2 ER visits, the most severe experience with pain that I have lived through, and being misdiagnosed twice, I then found out I had a herniated disc and pinched nerve in my low back. 

 

I am so lucky that I run a small business from home and have been able to bring in some income, but this injury has lasted for 4 months now, and I have not seen very much progress forward which has been mentally and physically draining to be in this situation of moderate/severe pain for so long. Additionally, the monetary struggle this has placed me under, especially when I am unable to work enough to meet my basic needs & keep up with medical bills from three different medical institutions & adjunctive care methods, has added an incredible amount for stress that is only making the issue worse.

 

I have accessed physical therapy, acupuncture and other TCM, network chiropractic, physician support and medication management , but there has been little that has been able to get me out of bed for any stretch of time. I have tried to seek specialist help at Mayo, but after ct scans, x rays, and mri’s were obtained they denied me an appointment with no explanation. Leaving me with a mound of debt from these scans and no specialist opinion to try and help me understand why I was not getting better, and how I may start to. I am so incredibly  fatigued and down trodden from this whole process.

 

In the last 9 months I have dealt with spinal, reproductive health, ENT, GI, widespread chronic pain and fatigue, and major depression, and a long an arduous path to an hEDS diagnosis, that has made living really difficult. So much of my day is spent in bed, especially in the last few months, that I have hardly felt I am living much at all.
