Help Marco feed the homeless and grant his birthday wish

Meet Marco. Our soon to be 8 year old boy. A few days ago Marco asked if he could start a collection for his birthday for the homeless and my heart melted. This little boy has the biggest heart. For years, if ever asked what he would do if he had a lot of money, his response is always he would give it to the homeless.

We asked him to let his friends and family know in a few words why he wants to collect money for the homeless and this is what he had to say.

"I want to collect money for the homeless people because I just don't want them to suffer. Homeless kids do not get things like we do so I want them to be able to get things. I would like for them to be treated better. Thank you and please help me reach my goal of $500."

The money collected will go to St Vinnys Bistro here in San Antonio. Their mission is to feed San Antonio’s homeless providing three hot nutritious meals 365 days a year to anyone who walks through their doors.

A $228 donation covers 100 meals and $1,140 covers 500 meals. If we are able to collect about $500 we can help provide for about 250 meals at St Vinny Bistro.

Why St Vinny's Bistro you ask? Marco asked if we could find which charity needed it the most. We did some research and seems they are facing challenges in food procurement due to declining donations from grocery chains and food banks so he said he wanted to pick this one. Once we finish the collection, we will go in person to donate the money so he can see where it is going.
