Help Margarita and Matthias Rebuild Their Home

Like many of the families in our amazing community, we lost our home in Pacific Palisades Fire in Los Angeles. We recently completed the building of our home that took us several years, and we put a lot of love and hard work into creating and building it. We faced a tough financial situation through the process, thinking we won’t make it, but we made it. We lived there for 4 years with our 3 kids, 13, 11 and 7 year old boys, who loved every day of it. Unfortunately, we had to evacuate quickly, thinking and packing for 3 days out maximum. Little did we know that we would return to rubble... It’s devastating and shocking, but it’s a reality. The boys still asking if their bike or their favourite toy was spared and Maybe lying in the rubble somewhere. it’s heartbreaking to tell them that all is gone… everything .

The current insurance, CA Fairplan, will cover only a portion of the rebuilding costs and a portion for the furniture as well as capped amount for lost belongings, given it's a government entity, and private insurance canceled our plan a couple of months ago. Despite what’s being talked on TV, we continue to receive zero support from any supposed released funds for the victims and landlords are already taking advantage and racking up the rents (even if it’s illegal). With a humble heart, we ask you to donate anything you can. Even if it doesn’t seem like much, every penny counts. We will be put it all towards rebuilding our home but also to help us in the near term to buy what we lost, pots, pans, plates, utensils/cutlery, towels, beds, bedding, linen, even suitcases, what one need to create a home. We will rebuild one step at a time, and we will rise from the ashes! Thank you for all your kind support and help!
