Help Margo May Recover from the Eaton Fire

My name is Moorea Masa and I'm a local musician and peer of Margo's. The devastating Eaton Fire in Altadena has turned countless lives upside down, including that of our dear community member Margo May. While her house miraculously survived, her life as she knew it has been completely upended. The fire destroyed the entire neighborhood, leaving no potable water, no electricity, and downed power lines. Officials are not allowing residents back into the area, and the toxic exposure caused by the fire has made homes, including Margo's, unsafe to live in.

Margo is a nanny and musician originally from Kansas City who has spent the last five years building a life in Los Angeles and two years growing a loving community in Altadena. In addition to her nanny work, she ran a donation-based music class for toddlers in Altadena, bringing joy and music to local families every week.

The family she worked for lived just three streets away, and their home is now ashes. Tragically, three other families she worked with have also lost everything. Losing her nanny jobs, her music class, and the daily connection with her nanny community at the local park has been heartbreaking.

Margo was able to recover one guitar, but she lost nearly all her belongings. For now, she has returned to Kansas City, displaced and trying to figure out how to rebuild her life and career.

We’re raising funds to help Margo with the overwhelming financial burden she’s facing as she navigates this incredibly challenging time. Donations will go toward:

-Temporary living expenses while displaced.

-Replacement of essential belongings lost in the fire.

-Costs associated with finding new work and rebuilding her life.
