Help Mari Survive Cancer

Hello everyone, I’m Michael.

My wife Mari has been fighting breast cancer for the last year and a half. Her condition (stage IV) has become complicated in the last 5 months, and it is not operatable in Japan. She was sent to palliative care and the Japanese medical system is restrictive and there are less options for Mari. There are still treatments available to help her and we refuse to give up. We need your help.

There are places in California that offer integrative medicine which has experience with patients like Mari that are more complicated. Thus far, we have a very detailed treatment plan tailored for Mari’s specific condition. “Mari requires a combination of special treatments - we will combine conventional and immuno treatments with a variety of other methods we offer here, and we are very confindent about the results.” I have experience working as a medicinal chemist in the US at a pharmaceutical company and agree that she will get the right care and make a full recovery.

Mari has dedicated her life to fight for the earth since she spent a year at the University of Montana as an exchange student. She followed her dream since and received her Ph.D. in England to work to protect the environment. She founded a non-profit organization to educate Japanese people about animal welfare and sustainability.

Mari and I met in San Francisco when she was working on a project to protect the old growth forests in North America. After moving to Japan, Mari and I founded a company to make organic pet supplements in Japan to help with dogs and cats. Mari loves to walk in nature with her dogs, she loves to do watercolor painting, and is extremely compassionate. She spends her entire life to try and help others. We have been married for 13 years and Mari’s cancer is a complete shock.

The hospital has shown us incredible generosity and is donating funds to Mari’s treatment and is helping us to raise funds for her through Cancer Aid and Research Fund. We still need to cover the following:

- Treatment (3 cycles): 40,000 USD for 1st cycle

- Operation: 10,000 USD

- International flights for two for the 1st cycle: 5,000 USD (with minimum connections to make it easy for Mari to travel)

Mari has used up all her energy trying to protect threatened species and now her life is threatened. I can’t imagine my life without her.
