Help Maria buy a new roaster

Maria is a hard working mother of two teenaged daughters. She runs a small but legendary coffee shop in our community of San Juan, on the shores of lake Atitlan here in Guatemala. She grows and roasts her own coffee to sell and serve at her small shop. Maria has recently been abandoned by her life partner and the father of her daughters and my wife and I have gotten to know her and her story over the last few months. We have watched her work through, day after day, doing her best to provide for her daughters with no spousal support. Yesterday while we were at her shop we witnessed her roaster breaking down, along with her. She was trying so hard to be strong but she seemed, finally, defeated.

This woman truly makes the best cup of coffee I have ever tasted in my life and is a hero in my books for the way she keeps putting one foot ahead of the other for her daughters’ sake.
