Friends and family I need your help during this difficult time!
My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last October and has been fighting the battle to stay alive. She recently found out that she also has breast cancer and will need surgery to remove both the ovarian cancer and breast cancer. These funds will help her get the necessary medical attention she needs. The doctors are hoping to schedule her surgery on her 64th birthday, July 6. What a wonderful gift this would be if we can make it by then.
Where it all began:
After collapsing at a bus stop last October and taken to an emergency hospital in West Palm Beach, my mother of 63 years old found out she had ovarian cancer. With no insurance and limited resources she has been taking on the full responsibility of paying over $10, 000 cash to pay for all her chemo treatments, appointments and medications without having to bother or ask anyone for help. At this time, she is unable to continue to fund her treatment and surgery cost.
As my mother she always showed me what hard work was, she always taught me to never give up, look on the bright side of things and pray. She has been able to fight hard until this point. Unfortunately, during this time fighting to beat Stage 1 ovarian caner , the doctor found a mass on her breast and they determined that she had breast cancer as well. After 6 months of chemo for her ovarian cancer she saw a glimpse of hope that her life would go back to some type of normal. Her follow up doctor visit proved that she was cancer free in that area but required surgery to remove her ovaris and proceed with the next step of her breast cancer treatment.
My mother came to this country 35 years ago with nothing but her 3 kids, she worked hard all her life and provided for us the best she could. Even though we weren’t rich, she taught me many valuable things about being a decent human being. She has always been a warrior and a fighter, and even when things have not been easy she continues to push on. Everyone that knows her, knows that she will take the shirt off her back to help her neighbors, she will go without so that others have what they need even if she doesn’t. I admire her kindness and hope the world could as kind to her.
This is a very difficult time for my siblings and myself since we are in no position to cover the entire $15, 0000 she will need to pay for this surgery and follow up care for her. So I implore you to help in any way you can so that my mother can continue to see her grandchildren grow up and hope that she continues to be with us for many more years.
Funds from this tremendous effort will go towards her surgery as well as treatment for her breast cancer and follow up care.
