Help Mariam rescuing cats and dogs in Egypt

Hello, my name is Sven and I'm collecting donations for Mariam (because Egypt is not supported by gofundme). She runs Baraka's foster home in Nasr City, a district of Cairo, and rescues cats & dogs that got abandoned by their owners or strays that got into an accident or sick. All of them are not able to survive on the streets on their own. With countless hours of unpaid work she takes, treats and rehomes them.

Sadly animals on the street of the Egyptian capital have a really hard stand. The awareness for animal rights still has a lot to grow, the government's "solutions" have often been mass killings in the past. That's why the only hope for cats & dogs that got sick or victims of violence or an accident are private shelters like Mariam's.

Despite mobilization of friends and bringing in her own income there are still over 26.000 EGP = 500€ of the shelters expenses unfunded every month. The money is needed to pay for food for the 72 cats, treat sick animals and pay vet debts. Also many of the cats need special medical dry food because of their conditions.

Every month is a stressful struggle with the fear of not being able to pay important bills or simply have enough food left.

This is Fluffy, the cat from the campaign photo. She is a permanent resident and needs monthly treatment due to a severe chronic respiratory problem.

Here you see Kajo, born in april on a roof. Residents tried to poison him several times. Now he is safe in Baraka's foster home and up for adoption.
