Help Maria's Catering Business Overcome Hardships
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Maria, and I own a small catering business as well as a food trailer. The name is Maria's Homestyle Mexican Food. We launched it 8 years ago January 2017. With high hopes and a mind full of dreams and passion in our hearts for a future to come. Knowing absolutely nothing about running a business or knowing what it would take to run one. Starting with nothing in equipment and basically no money. Over the years thru many mistakes, trials, tribulations we gained the much-needed knowledge. Bought equipment piece by piece. And made a name for us in our community.
In 2020 the pandemic hit the world hard, and everything changed for us as it did for so many around the world. Our family was hit with two deaths of my Stepfather and the father of my children. Our community rallied then for us and seen us thru that most difficult time. The business how ever had to come to a complete halt, to be with our loved one in the hospital in another state. For 5 months August 2020 thru January 2021. Then January 2022 My mom needed to be cared for during hip replacement surgery in California, business halted again for 1 month. April - May 2023 I had to have surgery and recovery, business was at a halted for 8 weeks. August 2023, my dad needed to be cared for a hip surgery in Tennessee, business was at a halt for 3 1/2 weeks. October 2024, our family was hit again with a double loss, we lost my grandfather and then five short days later we lost my grandmother. My mom needed help packing up a home of 20+ years and move her to Fargo North Dakota with us as she has lived with my grandmother as her caretaker, business halted for 1 month.
Each time the business had to stop it created debt for us both in the business and in our home. We have been working effortlessly to work our way out of it.
I come to you now with real true transparency, just as we always have. This has been a very difficult decision make. Whether or not to bring this to you our Community's attention. You have helped build our business to the extent that it has.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could help us now in our great time of need. Here are some things you can do for us:
- If you believe in prayer, pray over our circumstances.
- Make a donation that is comfortable for your budget, if we had 5,000 people donate $5 each it would reach our goal.
- Buy gift cards from our business for future purchases. You can find those on our website.
- Book our catering Services, we have a tasty and filling Taco Bar that's a hit.
- Share our posts and recommend us to others if you enjoyed our food and services.
- Leave a review on google and our social media pages to help draw awareness to us.
We would honestly rather earn the money than have to ask for a donation, but we also understand the situation we are in and have to set pride aside. We are doing everything we can to keep our Family owned and operated business going strong as we are not ready to give up just yet! We have high hopes for a bright future, we just need to get over a small bump in the road.
We thank each and every one of you in advance and our prayers go out to all of you for your generosity and prayers.
