Help Maricela Rivera battle Brain Cancer

Maricela is a treasured wife, mother, sister, friend, and much more. She was once one of the most selfless, youthful, and caring souls you are ever bound to come across. Unfortunately, up until recently she has not been feeling or behaving like her usual self. The cognitive impairment that suddenly became apparent in Maricela was a shock to the loved-ones around her.
On January 7, 2022, Maricela was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Brain Melanoma, an aggressive form of Brain Tumor at the age of 45. Doctors were able to discover 5 separate tumors in and around brain. She has been undergoing daily radiation to the brain Monday-Friday for 10 total treatments with the hopes of shrinking her cancer and prevent the spreading of her newly found disease.
After further medical imaging, her left leg and lower spine appear to be contaminated with cancer as well. Her melanoma specialists fear that she may be at risk of paralysis, as her spinal chord could be compressed as a result of the unfortunate positioning of her cancer. To combat this, she will also be undergoing radiation to her spine beginning next week to prevent the growth in that region. Her leg cancer will be addressed later since the main concern at the moment are the brain and spine. She will be commencing chemotherapy less than 2 weeks.
Though her prognosis can be very scary, we plan on helping her receive the best treatments in order to prevent any further spreading. We’d ultimately love to have our wonderful Maricela back to the way she was. She is the mother of 3: 2 sons aged 22 and 15, and a beautiful daughter that is only 4 years old. She is also the wife of her wonderful husband, Abel Rivera, who has been by her side every step of the way.
The money raised here will be appreciated beyond words. Maricela’s family and friends are asking for help in supporting them in whatever way possible, no matter how large or small. These funds raised here will help to pay for medical bills and insurance premiums while she is undergoing this extensive treatment.
