Help Mario Silva Battle Pancreatic Cancer

Donation protected
Hello Friends and Colleagues,

We are reaching out to you today with a heavy heart. Mario Silva, age 44 and member of Local 528, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer- stage 4 in 2022. This is a battle that no one should face alone. He has been in a clinical trial through the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center for the past (2) years and was beating this aggressive tumor on his pancreas. This past week, he was informed that the tumor was now growing, so he was dismissed from the program. Just like that. While he appreciates all that they were doing for him, the dismissal was unexpected and sudden, just as the announcement that the tumor was growing was unexpected and sudden.

In this challenging time, we seek support to ensure he receives the best possible care and treatment.
Mario wishes to explore an alternative to aggressive chemotherapy, but they typically fall outside of his insurance coverage. We don’t want that to be a barrier for him, so we are asking for financial help on behalf of him and his wife, Heather, and their (2) young daughters, Roslyn and Simone.

Mario has been a pillar of strength and positivity and seeing him confront this challenging illness has been heartbreaking. We want to ensure that he has every resource available to fight this battle and lives to be a husband and father for his family.
Please give whatever you are able, and we are forever grateful.
