Help Marisah's Grandparents Overcome Hardships
Donation protected
My name is Marisah Stafford,
I am writing on behalf of my grandparents whom are currently living without hot water, heat, or a working refrigerator.
They have had everything important in a home you could think of to break all within three months. Their heat pump/furnace/thermostat/central air unit failed and they have been told by three different HVAC company’s it’s non repairable and has to be replaced.
3 weeks later a drunk drive without insurance hit them almost head on completely totaling their car, due to the age of the car they kept only Liability. I am currently still waiting on the police report but here is the case number; #24-05197.
A week later their hot water heater exploded flooding 80 gallons of water all over and a day later their fridge broke.
To top everything off their roof needs replacement by the middle of this summer, and can not be put off due to homeowners insurance requirements, and if you’re making mortgage payments not only can you not go without insurance (and shouldn’t regardless) you have to keep insurance current and follow any home repairs insurance requires.
14 years ago my grandma was diagnosed with Polycythemia vera a very rare blood cancer that two years ago mutated into Myelofibrosis, a bone marrow cancer that causes irreversible extensive scarring of your bone marrow and reduces its ability to produce blood cells. It causes severe anemia and extreme fatigue, reducing the persons ability to almost the simplest of daily tasks. The average life expectancy of myleofibrosis is six years and requires trips every 4-7 days depending on the week to Seattle for transfusions. Due to this my grandma is unable to work anymore leaving my 73 year old grandpa to be the sole provider, doing janitorial work which is hard at not only his age, but made worse by his fused ankle from an old injury, injured/sore shoulder from the car accident, arthritis, his right knee replacement and two rotator cuff surgery’s.
On top of everything, their beloved cat, Snuggles, is very sick. She needs daily insulin shots, and unfortunately, my grandparents can't afford the cost of her medication and care. It's breaking their hearts to think about having to put her down because they can't provide for her but they want to do the right thing.
They always been there for me, they have helped raise and take care of me over the years. I want to be able to help them as much as I can but I cannot afford almost all of the work that they need done.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
