Help Mark Allshouse Heal After Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
On July 22nd, my step-dad, Mark Allshouse was involved in a motorcycle accident on his way to work. The collision with another vehicle caused him and his bike to change trajectory, off to the right, and into a guard rail. His bike stopped; he continued over the guard rail and approximately 20' into the woods and down into a steep ditch. He was wearing his helmet. Thank God.
He sustained critical injuries and was taken to the closest trauma center. He is currently in the Surgical ICU.
His left lower leg has compound fractures with fragments that will be worked on in the near future once the swelling goes down and the Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon can determine a plan of action.
He also fractured rib(s) on his left side, had a partially collapsed lung on the left (which required a chest tube), broke his hyoid bone which resulted in a trachea injury. His right scapula is fractured. He has brush-burn on his left elbow and on his right arm from the armpit down to about halfway on his forearm. He suffered a split bottom lip halfway down his chin and has many scrapes and bruises.
He had just started that new job on June 10th. Unfortunately, he hasn't been at his job long enough to have medical insurance or disability insurance. With the extent of his injuries, the road of recovery is going to be long. There is automobile insurance but we don't know what the first-party coverage is, if anything. The medical expenses and only having my mom's income is a huge financial weight/strain. So, this gofundme is being set up to try and assist with the medical bills, significant loss of income (his and lost time/hours for my mom to care for him) and the costs of physical therapy & rehab over the next many months.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. And if you are so inclined, please share this with others. Any monetary donation will be deeply appreciated. Thank you.
