Help Mark from Spotted in Ely to make memories
Donation protected
Mark Cooney started Spotted in Ely in 2013 and he had no idea about what it would do for the local community. Ask anyone who lives in East Cambs about him or Spotted in Ely and they know exactly what it is.
The organisation has been run by him and his partner Alison and they have funded it themselves mostly with no quibbles to how much it affects their financial life.
Last week they received the devastating news that Mark has terminal cancer and his only concerns are for his family and the Spotted in Ely project and its survival after he's gone.
I have set up this Gofundme page to show Mark and Alison what they mean to us and hopefully give them some extra money to treat themselves and make some memories. Before creating this, I spoke with Mark who was very emotional about the idea, he did say that he would be very grateful to anyone who donated but wouldn't take more than needed. Any remaining money would be used on the Spotted in Ely project to keep it running.
Mark has said he wants to just spend his time left with his daughters and Alison and he is hoping the lockdown ends soon so they can be together to make some special memories.
It would be great if we could all send our thanks and support to Mark. Lets show him how much Spotted in Ely has helped us all in the last 8 years.
