Help Mark in His Fight Against Cancer

How it got started:
* Saturday, August 7, 2021 was a scary day for the Sullivan family. Mark Sullivan was camping with his youngest daughter Kileigh in Transylvania County and while he was out swimming in the lake, he passed out. With the help of other campers, Kileigh was able to get her dad out of the water.
* He was rushed to the hospital where he was sent for a CAT scan and doctors found a darker image on the left side of his brain. Later Mark was transferred to Mission Hospital in Asheville for an MRI and other tests. By Sunday morning, doctors had confirmed that Mark had a brain tumor. He was started on seizure medications and sent for a full body CT scan to check for other tumors. Thankfully, those scans came back clear.
* Next step was a a biopsy which was on Tuesday late afternoon. By Saturday, August 14, pathology reports confirmed that he has a Glioblastoma tumor. All tumors of this type are malignant. There is no cure at this time; however, it is treatable. It is considered to be the most aggressive type of tumor of the brain.
* Over the next couple of weeks, Mark went to several appointments for more test, to discuss treatment plans, and decide where to get treatments. Finally, he got the call to go to Duke the first of September for more tests and doctors to talk to.

Why a Go Fund Me Page?
Why a Go Fund Me Page?
* Currently, Mark must pay out of pocket for the medications that he is taking. His insurance will eventually reimburse, but there are upfront costs to be considered. The total amount of money that will not be covered by insurance is not known at this time. There are lots of extra expenses that the Sullivan's had not been planning.
* One of the types of treatment that the doctors are discussing has great results, but is very expensive. This may not be covered by insurance.
More About the Sullivan Family
* Mark is the CEO of Brushy Creek Custom Doors. He is in business with 2 other partners that makes custom cabinet doors and other products. He is working as much as he is able either in the office or from home.
* Becky is Mark's wife who is a stay-at-home mom. Currently, she is the chauffeur for the family since Mark is not allowed to drive due to medication.
* Four children which include Christopher (married to Jess and expecting their first child any day now) lives in the Durham, NC area; Kerrigan lives in Greensboro, NC working in social work; Braeden is currently living at home, working at his dad's company and going to college; and Kileigh who attends Westgate Christian School as an eighth grader.
Where their strength comes from
*Jeremiah 33:3 is the verse they have claimed: "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not"
* Miracle Prayer: The type of tumor Mark has, is the worst type there is. When a 2nd tumor comes back, there is no radiation to be done. The miracle prayer for the family, is that no other tumors come back.
* The Sullivans want everyone to know that they have seen faithfulness of God in their day to day guidance and peace and blessings of family and friends.
What the Sullivan's desire is throughout this journey
* For God to gain all glory and honor through this process
* To see others come to know Jesus
* For people to pray for them through this journey. Donations are great and welcome, but the prayers of others are coveted above all else.
* For the Sullivan children to grow closer to God throughout this experience as the see God's hand of provision of love to their dad.
