Help Mark Adjust To Being An Amputee

Donation protected
Intro Story:
My name is Steven Simons and I started this GoFundMe for my uncle Mark Broadwell. I want to give you a brief history of how Mark's current situation came about. The events of the past year have culminated in Mark becoming an amputee.
Important to note, that Mark has worked his entire life and has always helped others in whatever way he can. He's the kind of person that would give the shirt off of his back if you needed it, and wouldn't ask for anything in return.
This is why I am making this GoFundMe for him because I know needs help, but has a hard time asking for it. He has gone through an emotional and physical journey that has shaken him to the core. Please take a few moments to read about it and consider supporting him.

What we NEED:
  • Money for medical supplies, rent, food, credit card debt, wheelchair, prosthetic leg, mobility equipment, cleaning services, remote working supplies

Mark's Story:
  • 7 months ago Mark worked as a Finance Manager in a car dealership in London, Ontario
  • While at home 7 months ago, he lost his balance and fell in the bathroom
  • This fall resulted in severe damage to his left toe and foot, developing into a serious blood infection spreading throughout his body
  • This severe infection caused him to be hospitalized and later lead to the amputation of his left leg under the knee
  • Already having type-2 diabetes and not being able to afford his medical contributed to his health crisis
  • 7 months ago, while being hospitalized his boss terminated his employment via text message
  • Therefore his work-health benefits and money owed from work he had done previously were predominately withheld
  • While recovering in a retirement facility he contracted Covid-19 and subsequently Pneumonia
  • This extended period without work caused him to go into serious debt
  • Currently, Mark is still unable to leave the house to work
  • Mark is currently trying to find work remotely but is in need of certain equipment to fulfill those needs

In closing:
  • Please help donate what you can to help Mark in his time of need
  • Any amount is much appreciated
  • Thank YOU in advance

Current Updates:
  • (June 26th, 2022) Mark has been approved and is waiting for a prosthetic to be made
  • (June 26th, 2022) The next step will be a stay in the Parkwood Hospital in London once his prosthetic is done and a bed becomes available
  • More updates to come when as the healing journey continues
