Help Marla beat stage 4 breast cancer
If you know Marla, you know she would give anything for her friends, it's now our turn to return the favour and help a friend out.
It was early 2020 when Marla found a lump in her breast. She decided to follow her gut feeling and get it checked out. After many scans, exams and a biopsy later she was diagnosed with stage 4 triple negative breast cancer. Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a very aggressive and invasive form of cancer.
In an instant her life was turned upside-down. She was to start a rigorous cycle of chemotherapy near the middle of March 2020. We all know that by mid-March everyone else's world also was flipped on it's axis. Once Covid hit and the world shut down, Marla was temporarily laid off from her beloved interior design job.
Let's recap, in March:
- Diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer
- A global pandemic has turned the world on it's head and
- She was out of work with no known return
This would break most people. But not Marla.
You see, this is not the first time Marla has come head to head with cancer. Marla was diagnosed at 19 years old with hodgkins lymphoma. She fought tooth and nail and came out victorious a year later. This was 16 years ago and her future was looking bright. She married Sean in 2013 and welcomed 2 daughters, Kara (age 5) and Lyla (age 2). Life was good.
Once Marla started treatment (again, IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC!) she tolerated the treatments well and felt good. This summer she attempted to return to work, while caring for her children at home and attending her weekly chemo appointments. After the summer, it proved to be too much and she has decided to take a leave of absence from her work to focus on her health.
We would like to raise some money so that Marla can continue to focus on her health and not have to worry about every day bills & the cost of her drugs. Maybe she can even have some leftover for a big glass of champagne when she BEATS THIS MONSTER!
We would love your help in any way you can!
