Help Marla Rose Stand up to Hate: Medical,Legal & Security

TL;DR? My friend pissed off an incel nazi and his supporters. We could use your help.

On the afternoon of Sunday, November 10, my friend Marla Rose went to the address suspected to be the home of notorious far-right ultranationalist Holocaust-denier and misogynist Nick Fuentes. Earlier in the week, after the election of Donald Trump, Fuentes posted on X, something extreme and violent even for him: “Your body, my choice. Forever.”

His spin on the slogan for bodily autonomy was clear: Now that Kamala Harris had lost the election, he was announcing his right to control women’s and girl’s bodies as he saw fit. As more than half of women in the U.S. have experienced sexual violence in the according to the CDC , this is no idle threat. Fuentes is a public figure who has met with former and future president Trump and has more than 436,000 followers on X. His influence over his followers, so-called groypers and countless more men, makes this dismissal of a woman’s right to choose - her sexual partners, her reproduction, her future - all the more pernicious.

When Marla went to his house, she stood on the public sidewalk and made a short video. Her friends knew she lived in the same town as Fuentes once his address was made public on the internet and asked her to tell them what it looked like there -- were there protestors? She shot a short video, less than two minutes long, for her friends but never posted it.

A woman who drove up to see where this notorious anti-semite lived, stayed in her car and struck up a conversation, telling her to see if Fuentes was home and see what he had to say for himself. Marla decided to ring his doorbell, not expecting that anyone would answer, but if he did, she was going to ask him about it.

As she lifted her finger to the doorbell, not even touching it yet, the door flew open, Fuentes sprayed mace or pepper spray in her face and pushed her down the concrete steps, leaving her on the sidewalk. He then charged towards her, stole her phone off the ground, ran back inside, bolted his door multiple times and looked out the blinds. The camera was running the whole time, facing up, less than 30 seconds. He stomped on the phone, turning it off and damaging it, but the video of the entire assault survived and can be seen here .

Marla gave a statement to the Berwyn police officer who was dispatched, and he called an ambulance to check her eyes as she had been sprayed in the assault. He then talked to Fuentes, who said “no comment,” and the officer returned her phone. The EMTs took her vitals and released her.

Marla decided that this incident could live and die on her phone, as surely this would be embarrassing to Fuentes, or she could go public with the assault. She has decided to go public and is weighing her legal options simply so one of this country’s most notorious misogynists and anti-semites knows that there are consequences. Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences and he made a lot of women’s lives less safe with the rhetoric he spews on his huge platform. Attempting to ring a doorbell, especially one at a house without a "no solicitors" or "no trespassing" sign is not illegal.

Physically, Marla is sore from several large bruises from the fall and seeking medical oversight even as she been slammed with the busyness that happens after word gets out that you've been assaulted by one of the world's most notorious bigots. She and her family have been doxxed by Fuentes' followers and have received hundreds of threatening messages, texts, emails and phone calls. Twice, so far, police have come to their doorstep, drawn by bogus and anonymous accusations of crime in our household.

Here is where they could use help:

After having increasing pain and difficulty breathing, Marla was taken to an emergency room where she received x-rays and a CT scan. It was revealed that she has six broken ribs and significant bruising on her right arm that is limiting her mobility.

She is in good spirits and is continuing to work despite the pain. The problem is that her health plan has a high deductible and most of the costs of the emergency room visit and subsequent tests will come out of her pocket.

They are going to need to hire a legal professional to advise us on moving forward. They estimate just the beginning of this to cost at least $2,000.

They also need to replace the damaged iPhone. It is insured, but it will still cost $2-300 to replace it.

They also need a security system, as their address has now been publicly shared by Fuentes’ minions, as we knew it quickly would be once we went public, but we made the decision to do it anyway. This should cost about $5000 for the first year. Did I mention that Fuentes’ base are disaffected Nazi white supremacists and misogynists?

Also, they work as freelancers and this is having an impact on their income

"All I want is revenge against my enemies and a total Aryan victory,” Fuentes said in 2022.

Marla believes him, actually. And she’s not intimidated by Fuentes but she does want to protect her family and her home from the far-right while pursuing legal action against him.
