Help Martha & Marsha Get Back on the Road
Donation protected
Meet Martha and Marsha Taylor, identical twins and two of my pool buddies from the College Park YMCA. It took me a while to tell them apart, but I’ve gotten to know them over the last nine months. Now, they need some help.
They’ve been driving a 2003 Volkswagen Passat named Bean for the last seven years. Tuesday after our aqua fitness class, Bean wouldn’t start. Martha and Marsha learned the next day that Bean’s engine was fried, and they’d already put $2,500 into it in the last year to keep it running. A new engine requires more money than they have, and at this point, the investment isn’t worth it.
I hope to raise $8,000 for a down payment on another used car and extra cash for future car payments and insurance. I need your help.
Martha is a United States Air Force veteran. She planned a career in the military but was honorably discharged due to circumstances beyond her control. Marsha retired from AT&T after thirty-five years but lost her pension because of the company’s poor investment decisions.
Martha and Marsha are funny, kind, thoughtful, and generous and would do anything to help someone. I’m always touched when I see them being the first to donate food, candy, or toys for all YMCA drives. Now, they need a helping hand.
Please consider donating and helping raise $8,000 for a down payment on a decent used car.
Each year, we donate to various charities we believe in that do good work for others who are less fortunate. Here are two people I see several times a week that need help. Please help me get them back on the road again. Thank you.
