Help Martha recover from assault and carjacking!!

Our poor angel babe Martha (aka Spritzy) survived a violent assault and carjacking on Saturday, Jan. 15. This assault has left her with a fractured skull, occipital concussion, and traumatic brain injury, in addition to the theft of her car and valuables. She was hospitalized for 3 days, and will require lots of continued therapy and ongoing care as she recovers.

While in recovery, she is unable to return to work and has accrued significant medical bills. She has been released from the hospital but is still experiencing difficulty with speech patterns and will need long-term rest, physical and psychiatric therapies, and medications.

She is also scheduled to transition her housing at the end of January. This horrible timing will mean she needs to hire movers and will need community support packing her things. Occipital concussions often cause ongoing dizziness and she must be extra careful driving and going up and down stairs.

We are asking for donations to help offset these significant ongoing expenses and allow her to get the rest she needs to recover. If you know her personally, please also consider offering additional assistance with meal delivery and daily tasks, especially those that require driving or lifting. She has always been a generous and loving member of our community, so let’s show her how valued she is by supporting her through this incredibly difficult time.
