Help Martin beat pancreatic cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashley & I’m fundraising for my Dad Martin Windridge who has unfortunately been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
My Dad has given me many memories growing up.. but some memories that really stick out are learning to swim with my Dad (I would wrap my arms around his neck and basically drown him).
Taking me to football as a kid throughout the years & being my biggest supporter, standing in the sun, wind, cold, snow, rain (it didn’t matter) on a Sunday morning. Not to mention playing outside his house non stop with the bins as goals, most kids would be told off but my Dad would always come out and play with me. I remember when the game finished I would always sit on the boot of his car to get off my footy boots & he’d always do it for me. It’s so small but he would always without fail get me a drink & chocolate bar from the shop after & it’s something that I always remember fondly & now something I do with my own daughter after she plays tennis.
Not to mention all the other things like playing GoldenEye & Mario Kart on Nintendo 64 with me & all my sisters who were obsessed as kids! Squeezing us all in the smallest car whenever he’d collect us & Learning how to ride my bike with me, sorting out my first membership for the gym with me and trying to keep up unsuccessfully when he’d train with me. All the times watching the footy & letting me stay up for match of the day as a kid (basically so he’d be allowed to watch it and not the soaps ). Attempting to help me collect a car and doing all the checks over it like either of us had any clue & then finding out the head gasket had gone a week after buying it
In summary, having 7 kids and a lot of responsibilities he would always make time for the things that are important to me and make me feel special growing up from a boy into a man. My Dad does a lot for a lot of people and is a good man, while he’s unable to work due to his current diagnosis with Pancreatic Cancer I thought it would be nice to try and give him a little something back for all he’s done for me over the years. Myself and a good friend will be organising a charity football game whenever we can manage to get a pitch available all set up so watch this space for that. Anyone able to donate little or small it would be appreciated, even if you have just read what I have to say it’s appreciated & means a lot.
