Help Marvin's Dream Trip Amid Cancer Battle

Donation protected
There are untold hundreds of people whose lives have been touched by this man, our friend and fellow Veteran. Marvin, a distinguished Army Veteran who during his service was selected to be a member of the Army's elite 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment; the "Old Guard," escorts to the President, guardians of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. A duty Marvin not only took pride in, but excelled. Yesterday, April 23, 2025 Marvin was slammed by the news during his chemotherapy session, that his youngest brother passed quietly in his sleep from a longstanding illness at age 59, in North Carolina. Marvin needs us now more than ever.

Marvin's journey from the Appalachian Mountain ranges of Virginia has been one filled with challenges and heartaches, but it has also been a testament to the strength of family, friendship, and the power of dreams. As he faces this difficult time in his life, we invite you to join us in making his life a little easier by clearing his debts so as not to burden his family and to finally, while he has enough strength, make his long-time dream trip to the West with 4 of his closest friends a reality.

Marvin has always been a source of inspiration to those around him. His kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit have touched the lives of many. Now, as he battles extensive small-stage lung cancer, he needs our support more than ever. Despite the grim news from his doctors, Marvin remains determined to create lasting memories with his closest friends before his time runs out.

A trip he has always wanted to take but life, as it always seems to do to all of us, gets in the way. Obligations took precedence, timing was never right. And now there is so little time, no possibility to put off his dream any longer. Either go now to the breathtaking landscapes of the Midwest and the majestic parks of Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Arizona, or miss the chance forever. This is not just a vacation; it represents a chance for Marvin to embrace the beauty of life, to laugh with his friends, and to make memories that will live on in their hearts forever. Together, they will explore the wonders of nature, fish in pristine lakes, and witness the magnificence of our National Parks; places like Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Zion, and the Grand Canyon, all while celebrating Marvin's life and the bonds of friendship that have carried them through thick and thin.

Your generous donations will help cover Marvin's outstanding debts, final journey, and burial expenses back home to Virginia, ensuring that his family is not burdened financially during this difficult time. Additionally, the funds will provide Marvin with the means to not only embark on this once-in-a-lifetime journey with his friends but also provide a cushion to offset coming unforeseen expenses as his time winds down. Every dollar raised will contribute to making Marvin debt-free, with some funds for a housekeeper/caregiver we know will be needed. Our collective goal is to make this trip happen, allowing Marvin to experience the joys of travel, adventure, and companionship.

We understand that times are tough for many, but any contribution—big or small—will make a significant impact. If you cannot donate, please share Marvin's story with your network, as awareness can lead to support in ways we may not expect. Follow Marvin's Facebook page as his Ultimate Dream Road Trip West.

Let’s come together as a community to show Marvin that he is not alone in this fight. Let us fill his heart with joy and unburdened laughter as he creates cherished memories that will last forever. Together, we can make this dream trip a reality and give Marvin the best gift of all: the chance to embrace life fully and to know that he is loved. Marvin will be posting daily photos from this Ultimate Marvin Road Trip, departing June 18, 2025, from Cape Coral, Florida, with an approximate return to Cape Coral, Florida, around July 22, 2025.

We want to especially thank the doctors and staff at Florida Cancer Specialists for coordinating with the doctors and staff at Bozeman Health Cancer Center, Bozeman, Montana. This is the facility where Marvin will be treated to his bi-weekly maintenance chemotherapy. This is close to the property located outside Silver Star, Montana, that Marvin will enjoy (it's already been booked with a $1500 deposit) from June 22, 2025 - July 13, 2025. From there, south to Utah, Arizona, Dallas, New Orleans, NAS Pensacola tour, then home. Share Marvin's journey; enjoy all the pictures and videos during the journey of his lifetime.

Thank you for your kindness, prayers, generosity, and support. Let’s make Marvin’s journey one filled with hope, adventure, and unforgettable memories we all can share.
